Green Monster Smoothie

It CAN be easy to be green! This tasty smoothie features plenty of fruit, local leafy greens and nutritional powerhouses to start your morning off right.

Ingredients
- 3 cups cold water Local
- 2 - 8 leaves organic dark leafy greens Local
- 1.5 tablespoons chia seeds
- 1.5 whole frozen bananas
- 1 cup frozen strawberries Local
- 1 teaspoon bee pollen Local
Directions
Place all ingredients in blender and blend until well-mixed. It might take a little while, but it’s worth letting it blend for an extra bit so that it’s really nice and creamy! The chia seeds will thicken up this smoothie nicely.
Pour into three glasses, or drink one glass now and save the rest for later. You can also make this smoothie the night before and enjoy it the following day.
Kitchen Wisdom
*Start with just a little bit of lettuce and use a higher ratio of fruit; as you drink smoothies more regularly, you can graduate to including more leafy greens.
*Fill up your jug of water from the tap and let it sit out on the counter for at least 12 hours before refrigerating and then using in this recipe. Letting it sit will help get rid of some of the chlorine!
